We currently have a position available at our manufacturing facility in Grand Forks Plant - Grand Forks, ND. Grand Forks is a small community built on education, sports, family, agriculture, and the outdoors.
SUMMARY This position will ensure that the packaging area functions to package french-fry and specialty products in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals. RESPONSIBILITIES Ensures no injury to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.Monitors and ensures metal detectors are tested and fully functional.Reads and understands training materials, and other information related to the job and complete paperwork in a timely, efficient manner so the paperwork is thorough and legible. Enters data into the computer including data into the MMS computer system.Ensures quality of bag condition, proper codes, case condition, metal detector checks, and glue application to meet customer standards.Responsible for cleanliness of work area and equipment and ensures work area meets company standards for cleanliness. Responsible for data entry for sanitation into MMS.Ensures materials are supplied for all equipment on the assigned line.Has basic understanding of packaging machinery and is responsible for operation of packaging equipment on all lines. Ensures adjustments are made to packaging equipment.Responsible to participate in monthly major cleanup.Responsible to inform the oncoming shift operator of the packaging line status at the end of his/ her work shift.Ensures thorough understanding of production goals.Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills and knowledge. Responsible for training of new employees in the operation of pack equipment.Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and plant procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently. • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required. • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, ie a bag of ingredients • Must be able to demonstrate manual and physical dexterity. • Must be able to work with hazardous and corrosive chemicals in small areas. • Must be able to tell time and be able to convert regular time to military time. • Must be able to use a computer and successfully navigate through various applications. • Must be proficient at computer system data entry. • Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis. • Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time. • Must be able to work in extreme environments (cold, hot, humid and slippery). • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. • Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel. • Must have an acceptable attendance record. • Must have an acceptable safety record. • Must be able to work in stressful situations. • Must be able to sit on a forklift for long periods of time. • Must possess or obtain in first week of job a Simplot forklift license.
REQUIREMENTS • Applicants must be available to work any shift (7am-7 pm or 7pm-7am).• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks are required.• Must have good communication, math and computer skills.• Physical activities include walking, bending, stair and ladder climbing, and lifting up to 40 lbs. on a daily basis. PAY: $18.45/hour + night shift differential

Employees work a 2-week rotation, working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (4 shifts) on Week 1 and Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday (3 shifts) on Week 2. Employees will be assigned to either 7AM to 7PM or 7PM to 7AM shifts. The monthly schedule does not include rotating from nights to days. Employees enjoy having a 3-day weekend every other week.
