We currently have a position available at our facility in Grand Forks Plant - Grand Forks, ND. Grand Forks is a small community built on education, sports, family, agriculture, and the outdoors.

SUMMARY Direct and coordinate the Plant Quality Assurance Department to provide the necessary support to operations to assure all products are manufactured and/or packaged within good commercial practices, meet accepted company standards and policies and meet all Federal and State regulations in a cost effective and food safe manner. The incumbent reports to the Plant Manager, together with the Production Manager, Personnel Manager, Administrative Manager and Maintenance Manager. The facility is involved in producing food service french fries, specialty products such as taters, triangles non par fried hashbrowns and retail french fries. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager is the following position: 1. Quality Assurance Area Supervisors This position is accountable for supporting production of all products to ensure compliance with Company standards and Federal and State regulations. The Quality Assurance Manager is accountable for organizing product quality and food safety programs throughout the process, beginning with raw product and continuing through the finished product, packaging, storage and shipment. This position monitors production methods, product quality, risk management and product safety, and uses technical knowledge to provide facts and suggestions appropriate to management decisions

RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensures that the interface with other support groups is conducted in a manner that is conducive with the operations goal. * Ensures that the Plant Policies, Procedures and Union contracts are administered and followed in a fair and consistent manner. * Directs the loss control program in his/her area of accountability, to reduce personal injury accidents, other losses, and to ensure a safe working environment. * Conduct oneself in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the Company. * Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and Divisional standards. * Directs the Quality Assurance functions to provide the necessary support to operations, to ensure consistent high quality product is maintained as well as proper costs control, food safety, sanitation and safety performance. The QA Manager is the focal point for all Plant: i) Quality Assurance Training Procedures, Specifications, Equipment use ii) Process Control Training Upstream grading methods * The QA Manager is responsible for auditing: i) Specifications and Procedures Compliance ii) Product and compliance to specifications cuttings iii) Systems and Instrumentation Part of QMS are process procedures followed and is instrumentation being calibrated iv) Food Safety. * The QA Manager is the Technical and SPC expert in each facility. He or she must promote statistical processes, know and disseminate customer expectations to facility personnel, and understand division procedures. * The QA Manager is the Driver of Continuous Improvement they: i) Develops appropriate procedures ii) Enthusiastically promotes Improvement in group/private discussions iii) Ensures appropriate Feedback of quality information to Operations. * The QA Manager must direct the Administrative Activities of the department. He must: i) Maintain records of all product quality checks ii) Provide appropriate Records and Reports to Customers iii) Manage correspondence between the plant and salesmen or customers. * Ensures the implementation and management of J.R. Simplot Quality Systems.

REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or university * Three plus years related experience and/or training.* Thorough knowledge of HACCP program and USDA SSOPs. * Knowledge of state, federal, and local regulations. * Also have basic knowledge of the budget process. * Degree in food science (or related discipline), chemistry, biology, or microbiology preferred. * Must have strong computer skills and analytical problem solving skills.“The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level or work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
